The Passing of a Legend

Fiesta and the entire San Antonio community lost a seemingly tireless role model with the September, 2021 passing of Thad M Ziegler. His may leadership roles with a diverse variety of civic and business organizations are testimony to his talents and abilities. Among the honors he received during his life, he highly treasured his 1993 induction into the Order of the Cascaron. His induction credentials included decades-long involvement with Fiesta, including serving as FSAC President in 1980. His tenure in that position is perhaps most noteworthy for the inclusion of El Rey Feo as official Fiesta royalty. And it was Thad’s great pleasure to welcome a number of former “Ugly Kings” as fellow members of our Order.
